Nicknames, or what you prefer to be called: Kim is fine, thanks.
learning, philosophy, psychology, reading, writing, music, singing, piano, theater, inverted roller coasters, beaches, summer, adventure, comedy, livejournal, Harry Potter, House MD, jazz, Tenacious D, eating, restaurants, drinking, more not currently coming to mind
And your dislikes:
religious and political zealouts, close-mindedness, music snobs, invasions of (my) privacy, brussell sprouts, spoiled children (esp. ones who use the phrase "not fair" every other second), the bipartisan system, one piece bathing suits, more
A few of your pet peeves:
lateness, bad grammar and spelling, overly sentimental goodbyes, people eating straight ketchup with their fingers, people touching my stuff without asking, rudeness with cell phones, PDE (public displays of emotion, as in, random couples screaming at each other and slapping each other in the street, as that always makes me embarrassed for them), more
Got any talents?:
Singing, acting, writing, speed-reading, and I'm a pretty damn fast swimmer for someone who doesn't practice on a regular basis.
Where do you see yourself in ten years?:
I'd like to see myself with an advanced degree in something related to psychology (I've signed up for that crazy old GRE, but I haven't exactly researched doctoral programs just yet), and finding work that actually makes me want to get up in the morning, perhaps research-related. I'd also like myself to be married, or engaged. I'd like myself to know how to surf and scuba dive and be super fit. I'd also like to be financially comfortable, possibly a home-owner. However, I have serious doubts regarding a lot of these things. I'm going to try, though.
Your motto on life?:
"Whatever you are, be a good one" or alternatively, Dr. House's good old "Everybody lies".
Where do you feel most at home?
At my piano, singing, or in my bathtub, reading.
intelligence, sense of humor, sexy legs, a good variety of facial expressions, good singing voice, good writing/acting skills, good student/fast learner, endurance when it comes to athletic things, fast swimmer, and so on.
inability to deal with crying six year-olds well (I'm a camp counselor this summer, and I'm pretty good at it, except when they start crying about things that are "not fair"), anxiety, cynicism, upper body strength, fitting into any sort of clique or subculture or whatever, and I'm the worst bowler in the world.
Leader or follower?
Mostly leader, as I've got a
Fun or serious?
I can be both.
Outgoing or shy?
More shy, though I've gotten a lot better since I was a kid. I don't think I raised my hand once through the entirety of elementary school, despite the fact that I had perfect grades and no trouble whatsoever.
Think things through or act on impulse?
Mostly thinking things through, but I, like everyone else, have my moments of dumb impulsiveness
Devil or Angel?
Why do you like LotR?
I love fantasy/adventure things. I like how reading/watching things like this make you feel like everything means something, even if you're a general nihilist like me.
Who’s your favorite character and why?
Gandalf. He's complicated. He's helpful, but he's not a softie. He's brilliant, wise and strong, but he's also got something of a vulnerability to him. Plus, his staff rules, and he's bad-ass.
Who's your least favorite character and why?
Out of the characters you're supposed to like, it's probably Eowyn. I don't really dislike her, I just find her to be a bit overrated. She's not that interesting to me. Out of the characters you're supposed to hate, it's totally Denethor.
