Location: Northern California, in the wooooods. D: Yes, believe it or not, California is not all beach front property.
Nicknames, or what you prefer to be called: Well, I like Halie, but I've gone by Shasta and Dakota online before. Nicknames I've earned include Haliekins and Halie Potter (yeah.. no idea who spouted that one XD).
Your likes: Where to begin.. first off, I love art in almost all forms, music (also in almost all forms), literature (reading, writing, etc.), video games, good movies, good friends, good food, and good times. I also enjoy the ocean, daydreaming, and night skies.
And your dislikes: Hatred/prejudice (racial, sexual, any kind), hypocricy, rude people, those who feign ignorance to make others mad, horrible movies (cookie-cutter movies, bad horror/romance/whatever movies), betrayal, war (although war history is fascinating to me.. hmm), and horrible food.
A few of your pet peeves: Conceited people, prejudice, and being forced to watch a movie I don't like at least five times. D: (i.e. - "The Notebook". It was fine the first time through but after that.. eeh.)
Got any talents?: I'm very music oriented. I play flute and piano, with a little bit of drums, guitar, and recorder. Someday I want to learn how to play the bass guitar and the violin, in addition to perfecting what I already play. I can also play my nose like a musical instrument, no lie. XD I also do a lot of singing (there's hardly a time when I'm not singing) as well. I guess I have a fair hand at drawing and writing.
Where do you see yourself in ten years?: Ideally, I'd like to be in a different country, pursuing my goals in anthropology/archaeology (perhaps on a dig), and perhaps dating or with someone I really like. I don't have to be particularly rich; all I care about is having enough to get by, and that I'm happy.
Your motto on life?: "Time you enjoyed wasting wasn't wasted." - John Lennon. I've heard people tell me that music is a waste of time, or art. These are things that I love to do, and at the time I heard them say that, it was kinda sad, but looking back after hearing this awesome quote, it's not a waste of time. As long as I enjoy doing it, it's not a waste. :3
Where do you feel most at home? Near the ocean. It brings me such peace. Nothing like hearing the waves or watching the sun go down over the ocean. :)
Strong points: I'm creative, I suppose, open minded, and caring. I really want to help my friends. I'm also pretty empathetic, because I can understand other people's problems easily and help them out.
Weak points: It's very hard for me to deny people. I almost always end up doing something to make somebody happy, even if my own personal happiness is at stake. I just can't say no. I'm also a big space case/daydreamer. I space out at the worst times (such as driving, but I haven't done that for a while now), and sometimes I say stuff without thinking (although this is becoming rare). I'm very shy and insecure about myself. I'm always criticizing myself on something and thinking I'm not good enough. I'm working with it, but it's still very hard to deal with, particularly when meeting new people. I'm over sensitive (seriously, I cry at almost anything.. it's pathetic really), and I can be rather forgetful (my long term memory is great; it's just my short term).
Leader or follower? I prefer to follow and help from the wings, but if need be, I can step up and take the lead.
Fun or serious? A balance of both. I'm not particularly crazy fun, but some people have told me they like my dry wit. XD;;
Outgoing or shy? Shy, but I'm trying to work on that. I'm a little more outgoing around my friends.
Think things through or act on impulse? A combination of both. There's a time and a place for each. Sometimes you don't have time to think things through, so you've just got to do whatever comes next.
Devil or Angel? Uhm, I suppose angel.. ? I don't like making waves if I can help it. XD;
Why do you like LotR? There are many reasons why it drew me in. First of all, I love how the relationships are played out. The friendships and bonds are so strong that it's stirring to me (particularly the friendships between the hobbits). I also love a good fantasy, and LoTR is like.. the original fantasy.
Who’s your favorite character and why? I have quite a few favorites actually. XD; Although.. I have a definite fondness for Sam. He's so loyal (he resisted the temptation of the Ring to help Frodo), and he's got such a strong character. He really grows throughout the trilogy. Other characters I've really liked include Eowyn and Aragorn.
Who's your least favorite character and why? Eh, I never liked Wormtongue, because he's gross and mean. XD;; But I'm not sure he was meant to be liked.
Post 3 pictures of yourself (if you have no pictures, just describe what you look like)
